After fighting the elements for nine months at sea, following a nail biting final battle and escorted by dozens of motor and sailing boats, the Dongfeng team, under the supervision of our very own Carolijn Brouwer, was the first to reach the Coreworks pontoon deck! Following which the crew could climb the stair jetty, built in the water across the width, to reach solid ground. Volvo Ocean Race is one of the world’s most infamous sailing races and the finish is a fantastic public attraction. All the credit must go to the municipality of The Hague and the organizers. But they didn’t get on board with Coreworks for nothing ;-).
