OLYMPIC EXPERIENCE

Olympic village on the Beach

During the Olympic Games in Rio, Scheveningen beach was turned into a veritable Olympic village where about 6,000 visitors could play, watch and experience sports every day. From beach net ball to equestrian sports, from fencing to wrestling, swimming to rowing and sailing… In the afternoon and evening, the Games could be watched on giant TV screens and there was a live connection with the Holland Heineken House. With of course extensive previews and reviews by former top athletes and plenty of entertainment and music.

To give added lustre to these festivities Coreworks built one of the most beautiful covered stages to date on the Plaza Maracana, the heart of the Olympic Experience: the transparent CoreCurve. Next to that, the entrance gate and the signing & routing towers, so that everyone knew where to go for tennis, gymnastics, boxing, archery, volleyball, hockey, cycling…or cheering on.
