BOOMTOWN FAIR

The heroes of Chapter 7

Each year, near Winchester, England, the wonderful city of Boomtown is built to celebrate the high-profile Boomtown Fair. With a tidy 140 (!) areas, spread over nine different ‘city districts’, it’s all about idealism, music and imagination. The festival is set up as a story, and each year a new chapter is added (this year chapter 7), and a community of 10,000 people are involved through social media. Boomtown Fair is so well thought-out and it looks so fantastic that our Corepeople, who have been around a bit, encountered one surprise after another.

Coreworks was engaged to build the main stage, no less. And at thirty meters, this Bang Hai Palace was the highest free-standing scaffolding structure ever built in the entire British Empire, a national record! The Brits, completely unfamiliar with our stage building techniques, were duly impressed. And so we live happily ever after, as the heroes of chapter 7.
